"Lord of the underworld" arrested in Czechia
Czechia Defense Ministry announced the arrest of 4 Armenian criminals, including the "kingpin". Criminals were arrested on Mar 23, during Wolfram operation. The 5th bandit was caught in Slovenia. Full names of those detained are not publicized in the interests of investigation, IA Prime Crime reported to PanARMENIAN.Net.

According to police, the gang was specializing in leasing frauds in Czechia and Austria. The gang leader is suspected in the murder of Sazka Czekh company driver and attempted murder of Armenian entrepreneur in November 2007.

On Nov. 13, on Vatslava square, the bandits inflicted knife injuries on the Armenian entrepreneur, afterwards escaping from the scene of crime. On Nov. 27 they mistakenly shot down a Bentley driver, who drove the same car as the supposed victim. One of the criminals is still at large, the other two have been under arrest since Dec. 2007 and Nov. 28 correspondingly.

The detained "lord of the underworld" is a 40-year old Andranik Soghoyan, known in criminal circles as Zap (he got his nickname in childhood because of his resemblance to Zaporozhets automobile). According to operative data, Andranik Soghoyan, born in Leninakan, was "crowned" in 1994 in Moscow under advice of another "lord of the underworld", Nigal Barseghyan dubbed Nicole.

In Sep 2006 Zap was detained in Sochi's Rio casino along with "lord of the underworld" Temuri Mirzoev. He was charged with illegal stay in RF territory. In Dec 2006 he was discharged and deported to Armenia in Apr 2007 with 5 years' entry ban to Russia. Later, Soghoyan left Armenia for Czechia. If proven guilty, Andranik Soghoyan will be sentenced to 25 years in prison.
