Armenian, Turkish Parliament chiefs wil meet in Ankara

The delegation headed by Armenian National Assembly President Alen Simonyan is leaving for Turkey on Wednesday, May 3 to participate in the 30th Anniversary Summit of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation.

The event will be attended by the heads of parliaments of all member states, and will be followed by a plenary session of the General Assembly.

Tsovinar Khachatryan, Simonyan’s spokesperson, did not comment on whether they will leave on a government plane, Aysor.am reports.

When asked about Simonyan’s schedule in Turkey, Khachatryan said the Speaker will deliver remarks at the event and hold meetings.

"A meeting with the President of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Sentop is also planned," the spokesperson added.

Hraparak newspaper reported earlier that the presidency in the Organization could pass to Armenia. It is Ukraine's turn now but Kiev is reportedly going to reject the presidency due to the war with Russia.
