Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan has said that for the first time in the history of Armenia, the volume of foreign direct investments amounted to about $1 billion, which accounts for 5.13% of the country’s gross domestic product, RA Min while discussing the results of the 2022 budget in the parliament.
"Instead of the previously planned AMD 42 billion, we had a performance of AMD 53 billion 116 million drams," Kerobyan said in parliament on Tuesday, May 30.
Referring to tourism, the minister mentioned that 1 million 660 thousand tourists came to Armenia last year.
"Significant investments have been made in infrastructure. A program for the development of about 20 tourism clusters is being prepared, which was approved by the mid-term expenditure plan for the coming years," said Vahan Kerobyan.
