EU’s new anti-Russia sanctions target Armenia-registered entities too

The Council of Europe has adopted an 11th package of sanctions against Russia, which now targets entities registered in a number of countries, including Armenia.

According to a statement from the European Commission, the package will ensure that EU sanctions against Russia are “even better enforced and implemented, based on the lessons learned from implementation over the past year.”

In particular, the Council has added 87 new entities to the list of those directly supporting Russia's military and industrial complex in its war of aggression against Ukraine.

“They are subject to tighter export restrictions for dual-use and advanced technology items. In addition to the Russian and Iranian entities already listed, this now also covers entities registered in China, Uzbekistan, the United Arab Emirates, Syria and Armenia,” the statement says.
