Officials from Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan met in the town of Yevlakh on "issues of re-integration" on Thursday, September 21.

Following the meeting, adviser to the Karabakh President Davit Babayan said that no final agreement has been reached, and that details need to be agreed upon, Reuters reports.

"We have an agreement on the cessation of military action but we await a final agreement - talks are going on," Babayan said. "We need to talk through a lot of many questions and issues."

Azerbaijan’s representative said, meanwhile, that negotiations between the Armenians of Karabakh and Azerbaijan could lead to the conclusion of a peace treaty that would put an end to the conflict,” RIA Novosti reports.

Nagorno-Karabakh was represented at the negotiations by members of parliament David Melkumyan and Areg Avagyan. Azerbaijan was represented by Ramin Mamedov, who is “responsible for contacts with the Armenian residents of the Karabakh region”, Bashir Hajiyev, deputy special representative of the President of Azerbaijan in Karabakh, and Ilkin Sultanov, an employee of the special mission. Representatives of the Russian peacekeeping contingent also attended the meeting.

The meeting came a day after the authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh agreed to all of Azerbaijan’s conditions, including the dissolution of the Defense Army.
