Top Armenian official speaks enclaves, infrastructure with Azerbaijan

The issue of enclaves that Armenia and Azerbaijan have on each other’s territories are subject to discussion and must be resolved step by step, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Gnel Sanosyan said Wednesday, November 1.

“Especially when both sides face such an issue. If peace is established, commissions will work (on the delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border - ed.), the delimitation-demarcation process will be carried out, issues that cause discrepancies will be discussed in turn. To me it seems that certain solutions will be found,” Sanosyan said in an interview with the Public TV.

He said that unblocking roads and railways are most most often talked about, but Armenia and Azerbaijan were connected by gas pipelines and power lines.

“In the future it will be possible to discuss the issue of using the entire infrastructure,” Sanosyan said.

Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that Azerbaijan was raising the issue of eight villages it allegedly wants from Armenia. According to him, the Armenian side has said, in turn, that there are territories occupied by Azerbaijan - in the villages of Berkaber, Aygehovit, Vazashen, Paravakar and other territories in Tavush province.
