Georgian authorities set May 16 as deadline for opposition rallies
Georgian opposition continues its series of protest actions demanding President Mikheil Saakashvili's resignation. Today, oppositions are picketing the public television premises. Tomorrow, they are going to block all entrances to Tbilisi.

"The opposition is preparing for talks with the leadership to demand President's resignation," one of opposition leaders Levan Gachechiladze said.

Meanwhile, the authorities set May 16 as deadline for opposition rallies. They ordered to abandon Rustaveli Avenue for a parade due on May 26, Independence Day, RFE/RL reported.
