St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church in Södertälje, Sweden has recently been looted and vandalized, local media report.

The police are now investigating the incident.

It is unclear when exactly the break-in took place, but according to information from Telgenytt, it should have been on the night of Wednesday or in the early morning of Thursday (December 21-21).

At the moment, it is unclear how many perpetrators were involved. The thief or thieves must have entered the church through a window that leads to a room connected to the church, which is used for baptisms, weddings and other events.
