Difficulties in relations between Russia and Armenia are temporary and will be resolved if there is a will, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said, TASS reports.

“We are convinced that all difficulties [in relations between Russia and Armenia] are temporary and will be overcome if there is political will,” he said.

According to Lavrov, “it is the sustainable and systematic development of Russian-Armenian ties that meets the fundamental interests of the peoples of the two states, which have common values ​​and a single cultural code.”

“Trade and economic ties and industry dialogue are developing at an impressive pace between Moscow and Yerevan. This is the foundation for relations between the two countries, as well as the most important boost for the sustainability of the Armenian economy and the well-being of the population of Armenia,” Lavrov said.

He emphasized that the rapid growth of Armenia’s GDP in recent years “is largely due to cooperation with Russia and Yerevan’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union.”

“Next year Armenia will chair the EAEU. We wish our colleagues success,” concluded the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
