Road map publication will level the Turkish factor in NKR issue
Head of European Integration Organization Karen Bekaryan and CIS Institute Yerevan Subsidiary Director, politologist Alexander Markarov expressed their views on Armenian-Turkish relations at today's news conference.

"Armenian-Turkish relations are an important issue in RA foreign policy. Recent developments testify to a thaw in Armenian-Turkish relations; here belong football diplomacy and road map signing," Makarov stated.

According to Bekaryan, the issue could be viewed from 2 sides.

"Armenian people currently support 2 positions: for and against normalization of ties with Turkey, " he said adding that after the answer is found, further normalization of Armenian-Turkish ties might be discussed. "Situation when neighboring countries have no relations whatever can't be considered natural. But on the opposite side, the important issue is the way relations are formed."

"I'm certain that upon road map publication Turkey will abandon its policy of preconditions," he said. Karen Bekaryan is confident that the document includes nothing but the discussion of bilateral relations.

"This also testifies to the fact that Turkish factor in NKR issue is already leveled," Bekaryan believes.
