Fly Arna license suspended, says Armenia official

The license of the Armenian airline Fly Arna has been suspended for six months, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of Armenia Armen Simonyan said Tuesday, March 19

According to Simonyan, the license will be revoked if no aircraft is listed on the carrier’s balance sheet.

“At the moment, Fly Arna’s license is suspended. According to the law, if a company does not have an aircraft, the license is suspended for six months. If during this period an aircraft is not listed on the company’s balance sheet, the license will be revoked,” Simonyan said in parliament on Tuesday.

He revealed that the airline is having financial difficulties.

Fly Arna is the national airline of Armenia, a joint venture of the Armenian National Interest Fund (ANIF) and the Air Arabia Group. The low-cost airline was established in July 2021, began operations in the spring of 2022, flying to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Novosibirsk, Tbilisi, Sharm el-Sheikh, Baghdad.
