The United States is reviewing a number of requests from Armenia to determine what more it can do to increase its assistance to and cooperation with Armenia, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said during committee hearings on Wednesday, May 22 defending President Biden’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 budget request.

Blinken did not provide any other details but reminded that in early April, he had a joint meeting with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, in Brussels. According to him, these consultations were held in order to find out what else the U.S. and the EU can do to assist Armenia.

Blinken also pledged to press forward in a number of various domains.

Also Wednesday, the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) called on key Senate Committees to pressure the Biden Administration to cut all military aid and sanction Azerbaijan’s genocidal leaders while allocating $200 million in U.S. assistance to survivors of the Artsakh Genocide.
