Moscow summons Azerbaijani envoy to address media accusations

Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, Mikhail Galuzin, summoned Azerbaijan’s ambassador, Rahman Mustafayev, for a meeting on January 7. Galuzin emphasized the importance of maintaining Russian-Azerbaijani relations in the spirit of "strategic partnership and alliance," based on the declaration signed at the highest level on February 22, 2022.

"In this context, concern was expressed over the series of anti-Russian publications in Azerbaijani media, as well as a disinformation campaign targeting the Russian House in Baku. The accusations made in these materials are entirely unfounded," the Russian Foreign Ministry stated, as reported by Turan.

Additionally, the parties discussed the December 25 crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane near Aktau. The Russian side underlined the importance of completing the official investigation and publishing its results to clarify all circumstances of the tragedy.
