Four people are being prosecuted following a brawl that broke out on April 30 in the Nor Nork district administration building, according to a statement by Kima Avdalyan, spokesperson for Armenia’s Investigative Committee.
Avdalyan said the case is proceeding under Article 195, Part 2, Clause 5 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to group-inflicted physical violence.
According to Factor.am , one of the individuals under investigation is Nor Nork district chief Tigran Ter-Margaryan.
The violence occurred shortly before the start of a public hearing and involved activist and blogger Arthur Chakhoyan, the district head, his allies, and municipal staff. Six people were detained at the scene, though Ter-Margaryan was not among them. Chakhoyan, who was injured, was also briefly detained but has since been released and remains hospitalized.
Earlier, it was revealed that Chakhoyan himself had been charged with hooliganism, but for a separate incident involving yogurt, not the physical confrontation.
