Mirzoyan says Armenia ready to deepen cooperation with Russia

During an expanded meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan declared that Armenia is committed to continuing mutually beneficial cooperation with Russia. The statement was shared by MFA spokesperson Ani Badalyan on Facebook.

“I reaffirm our readiness to pursue effective political dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation in line with the interests of our peoples and states,” said Mirzoyan.

Mirzoyan also announced that the development of a new two-year program for political consultations between the foreign ministries of Armenia and Russia has been fully completed. This update came during his extended-format meeting with Lavrov, according to Aysor.am .

“I hope the program will be signed today,” Mirzoyan added.

He noted positive developments in the level of cooperation, especially in the humanitarian field. Mirzoyan emphasized the meeting between the ministers was productive and expressed confidence that the expanded discussions would continue in the same constructive direction.

Lavrov is also scheduled to meet with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President Vahagn Khachaturyan on May 21.
