Pashinyan, Lavrov discuss regional security issues

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the current state of Armenian-Russian relations during a meeting with a delegation led by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

The discussions focused on key topics in the bilateral agenda between Armenia and Russia, cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as various regional and international security issues.

Sergey Lavrov thanked the Armenian side for the reception and emphasized Russia's readiness to further develop relations with Armenia.

During his working visit to Yerevan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated at a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart that Russia and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) responded immediately to Azerbaijan’s September 2022 attack on Armenia’s sovereign and internationally recognized territory. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan countered this claim, stressing that this is one of the issues on which Armenia and Russia have differing interpretations.
