A magnitude 3.0 earthquake struck 11 kilometers southeast of the town of Spitak in Armenia’s Lori Province at 12:12 a.m. local time on June 2 (8:12 p.m. GMT on June 1), according to the Seismic Protection Territorial Service of Armenia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The epicenter was located at a depth of 10 kilometers. Ground shaking intensity near the epicenter reached magnitude IV on the MSK-64 scale.

Tremors were felt with an intensity of magnitude III in the towns of Spitak and Vanadzor, as well as in the villages of Arevashogh and Lernapat in Lori Province.

The seismic event was recorded at coordinates 40.79° N latitude and 44.39° E longitude.
