Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan announced at the 5th Armenia-France Decentralized Cooperation Forum in Goris that strengthening the resilience of Syunik Province is a priority for the Armenian government, with France serving as a key international partner in this endeavor.
"Enhancing Syunik's resilience is among the Armenian government's priorities, and France plays a crucial role among our international partners in this regard, for which I am grateful to all," he stated, as reported by Aysor.am .
Khudatyan emphasized the strategic significance of holding the forum in this region.
Vladimir Vardanyan, head of the Armenia-France Friendship Group in the National Assembly, noted that, within the framework of Armenian-French relations, a consular office will be established in Syunik Province for the first time—a positive outcome of decentralized cooperation, according to 1lurer.am .
"The local authorities in France have been more courageous and swift, responding promptly and firmly whenever support for Armenia was needed.
As the renowned French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry said in his famous work, we must learn the art of small steps and move forward gradually.
Today's significant event did not start yesterday; it is the result of small steps. Today, we are taking another small but very important step: for the first time in Armenian-French history, a consular office will be established in Syunik," he said.
The 5th Armenia-France Decentralized Cooperation Forum has commenced in Goris. The opening of France's honorary consulate in Goris is also planned.
