The registration process for first-grade students in Armenia’s public general education schools starts on June 9, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MoESCS) announced. Enrollment will occur in three distinct phases via the electronic student registration platform managed by the National Center for Educational Technologies.
Phase One
From June 9 to June 22, the first phase is open exclusively to applicants eligible for certain preferential conditions. Parents registering children in either Armenian- or Russian-language classes may benefit if:
Exemptions to the deadline apply to families living within the school's designated pedestrian zone who are:
In such cases, parents must apply to the MoESCS with appropriate documentation. Registration for these groups is regulated by Order No. 1640-N dated November 24, 2010.
Phase Two
Starting June 24, the second phase will open to general applicants for Armenian-language instruction at public schools via hayt.emis.am. This includes foreign citizens, dual citizens, stateless individuals (or their legal representatives), and families where one parent is a minority Armenian citizen while the other belongs to one of the listed groups.
Phase Three
From July 1, registration for Russian-language classes will proceed on haytru.emis.am for parents choosing that option. It applies when at least one parent is a foreign or dual citizen, stateless individual (or legal representative), or an ethnic minority Armenian citizen.
In cases involving twins, triplets, quadruplets, or more, registration of one child ensures enrollment of the others in the same school, regardless of available licensed capacity.
Enrollment will remain open throughout the academic year.
