I Have Honor bloc leader Hayk Mamijanyan, addressing the impeachment initiative published by the Armenia faction the previous day, stated he did not know what the Armenia faction had actually signed.
“We have an impeachment form with all the necessary documents: justification, a draft parliamentary resolution, and, most importantly, a candidate—under which we signed. That form has six signatures. One sentence—‘the impeachment process has begun’—and under it, six signatures. I don't know what the Armenia faction signed,” he said, according to Radar.am .
When asked about the progress in gathering the required 36 signatures to bring a vote of no confidence against the Prime Minister to the parliamentary agenda, Mamijanyan emphasized that efforts are ongoing “by all possible means.”
According to the National Assembly’s rules, an initiative to express no confidence in the Prime Minister can be included on the agenda only if at least 36 MPs sign it.
The initiating I Have Honor faction has six members, and the Armenia faction has 28. The latter stated its readiness to provide all 28 signatures and published a form with all its MPs’ signatures—but on a document separate from the one submitted by "I Have Honor."
Combined, their signatures total 34—two short of the required threshold for placing the issue on the parliamentary agenda.
Armenia faction leader Seyran Ohanyan posted their signed document on Facebook, noting that while all 28 MPs signed it, their number alone isn’t enough to start the impeachment process. MP Ishkhan Saghatelyan added that impeachment will become a real process only if they secure at least two more signatures and mobilize public support through street protests.
