Armenia's Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan and State Revenue Committee Chairman Eduard Hakobyan will travel to Georgia on June 23, according to a decision signed by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan.
The visit will focus on matters related to the trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Armenian brandy producers have repeatedly staged protests in front of Georgia’s embassy in Yerevan, voicing frustration over Georgian inspections. Armenian freight trucks have reportedly faced prolonged delays at Georgia's border checkpoints, sometimes lasting several weeks.
Minister Papoyan had previously stated that the issue would be resolved during a meeting with Georgian Agriculture Minister Davit Songhulashvili scheduled for June 6. However, that visit was later canceled.
