Ruben Melkonyan: Armenian-Turkish talks slow down
Turkey will never sacrifice its interests despite the world powers' urgent calls to normalize relations with Armenia in reasonable terms, an Armenian expert said.

"Turkey debates on the recent statement by U.S. Assistant Secretary of State but this will hardly change anything. Turkey will continue its policy toward Armenia," expert at Noravank scientific and research center Ruben Melkonyan, said when responding to a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter's question during today's press conference.

"Armenian-Turkish talks have reached a deadlock but it would be incorrect to say that the process will be severed," the Armenian expert said. "However, judging by public mood in Turkey, I am not optimistic about the possibility to smooth relations in the near future."
