Archbishop Arshak Khachatryan, Chancellor of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, has been arrested. The news was shared by his attorney, Arsen Babayan, via his Facebook page.

“The NSS arrested Archbishop Arshak at the Investigative Committee building,” Babayan wrote.

Earlier, responding to media reports attributed to a group of Armenian Apostolic Church bishops, Babayan stated that even if an expert analysis of a video recording existed, it could not be provided to any other individual, including the mentioned bishops. He added that the Investigative Committee is obligated to offer clear and comprehensive explanations.
