Facebook Social Network announced a new function, offering free domain name registration. 500 000 domain names were registered within 3 minutes of service activization. Domain name registration is offered free-of charge as opposed to Vkontakte social network (vkontakte.ru), charging 30 000 Rubles for domain registration.

Facebook Company will strictly control URL usage to present the abuse and URL reselling, habrahabr.ru reported.
