The publishing house of Garage Museum of Contemporary Art has released the book Yerevan: Architecture of Soviet Modernism, dedicated to the city’s key buildings and ensembles of the 1960s–1980s. The publication covers structures of various functions and scales - from cultural and public buildings to industrial complexes - that shaped the image of contemporary Yerevan, ranging from the austere Khachatur Abovian House-Museum to the monumental Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex.
A special place in the book is given to the architectural ensemble of the Yerevan Brandy Company, examined as part of a unified urban landscape and as a significant element of the capital’s historical heritage.

“The buildings that completed the brandy factory ensemble made it resemble a citadel, evoking the history of production” - this is how the chapter devoted to the architecture of the Yerevan Brandy Company begins. In it, interesting episodes from the history of Armenian brandy are reflected through an analysis of the complex’s architectural solutions and expressive elements.
“For ARARAT, it is important to be part of the dialogue on preserving and rethinking Yerevan’s heritage. We hope that through this book readers will be able to gain a deeper understanding of the city, take a fresh look at its architecture, and see how different eras and meanings come together within a single urban space,” notes Zaruhi Saribekyan, Communications Manager of Yerevan Brandy Company.
