Pashinyan discusses tax reforms at gov't meeting

A meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan focused on procedural reforms in Armenia’s tax policy.

Pashinyan noted that the discussion followed a recent Cabinet session addressing the revision of criminal liability thresholds for tax evasion. It had been concluded that the proposed legislative changes required further refinement, and the prime minister had instructed additional work in that direction.

Chairman of the State Revenue Committee Eduard Hakobyan presented the results of the conducted analyses and outlined details of the proposed new procedures, as well as steps aimed at developing the tax sector and improving administration. The discussion also covered efforts to transform the institution of the compliant taxpayer.

The prime minister emphasized the importance of consistently improving and refining tax policy.
