Elina Avanesyan has qualified for the main draw of the WTA 125 tournament taking place in Madrid.

The 23-year-old Armenian tennis player secured her place through the qualifying rounds, defeating Russia’s Ekaterina Kazionova (6:4, 6:3) and France’s Selena Janicijevic (6:0, 6:2), according to Factor.am .

She will begin her main draw campaign on April 7, facing Spain’s Andrea Lazaro Garcia, currently ranked 146th in the world, in the first round.

Avanesyan is ranked 367th in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings.
