Armenian authorities don't eye opposition as threat any longer, RPA says
Armenian authorities do not eye the opposition as a threat any longer, said Rafik Petrosyan member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia.

"Opposition forces which will continue struggling against the authorities will be more cautious henceforth," he told a news conference today.

Petrosyan also called down the idea of formation of new fact-finding group on march 1,2008 events. "How the group members can reach success if they are constantly arguing?" he said.

As to the amnesty, it will alleviate public tensions, according to Petrosyan.

At that he said it had nothing to do with PACE session. "If Armenia wants to cooperate with the Council of Europe it will have to meet European standards," he said.
