Karapetyan calls June 7 a historic choice

History will remember June 7 as the day when the Armenian people chose to live in a strong and free Armenia, Strong Armenia party leader Samvel Karapetyan declared while addressing a rally of his supporters in Republic Square from the yard of his home on June 3.

“They promised this nation peace, but brought three wars and were defeated in all three. They promised the Armenian people territorial integrity, but lost our lands. They promised dignity, but today Armenians face a very difficult situation, and we are losing our identity,” he said, according to Panorama.am.

According to Karapetyan, change is approaching, and citizens will feel it in their daily lives. He stated that these changes will begin after June 7 and that every Armenian will live a dignified life rather than merely struggle to survive, adding that he guarantees this outcome.

“We will no longer be weak because of Pashinyan; we will be strong. On that day, the Armenian people will make one of the most important decisions of recent decades. On June 7, every young person, every father and mother, every elderly citizen will have the opportunity to determine the future of the next generations,” Karapetyan said, emphasizing that citizens must participate in the elections so that others do not decide the country’s fate in their place.

“History will remember June 7 as the day when the Armenian people chose to live in a strong and free Armenia. History will remember June 7 as the day when Armenians decided to create 300,000 new jobs for the citizens of the Republic of Armenia,” the Strong Armenia party leader stated.

He then asked Armenian citizens whether they were prepared to support what he described as “a government serving Aliyev’s interests” and whether they were ready to accept years of humiliation and failures.

“Or will you choose a free and strong Armenia?” Karapetyan said, adding that this requires demonstrating that the Armenian people have overcome their fears and that Aliyev and, as he put it, “his governor” do not decide Armenian affairs.

“Dear compatriots, on June 7 we will make history together. We are obliged to do so because the existence of the Republic of Armenia is under threat. I call on each of you to become part of the change. Show that Azerbaijan cannot be the guarantor of Armenia’s peace,” Karapetyan declared.

He also stated that a conference on “Western Azerbaijan” is scheduled to take place in Nakhchivan on June 17 and claimed that Nikol Pashinyan would be its guest of honor. He added that such a visit should be prevented through the results of the June 7 elections.

“On June 7, victory belongs to us; Pashinyan belongs to Azerbaijan,” the Strong Armenia party leader concluded.

The election campaign, which began on May 8, will continue until June 5. June 6 will be a day of silence, while elections will be held on June 7. On May 25, it became known that the Alliance Progressive Centrist Party had submitted a withdrawal application, after which the Central Electoral Commission invalidated the registration of the party’s electoral list. As a result, ballot paper number 13 will not appear in the upcoming elections.
