There is still no clear answer as to whether three or four political forces will participate in the distribution of parliamentary mandates, according to Vahagn Hovakimyan.
“In order to calculate mandates, it must first be clear which political forces have entered the National Assembly,” he said during a press conference, according to Panorama.am .
Hovakimyan emphasized that it is impossible to discuss the final distribution of mandates before the completion of recount procedures and the full tabulation of election results.
“How are mandates calculated? The votes received by political forces that have crossed the threshold are multiplied by 101, and the resulting figure is divided by the total number of votes received by all political forces participating in the mandate distribution.
As long as we do not have the exact figures, and, moreover, do not know whether three or four political forces will ultimately participate in the mandate allocation process, the overall picture of valid votes used in the calculation remains subject to change,” Hovakimyan said.
According to the latest preliminary results, Civil Contract received 49.825% of the vote, Strong Armenia 23.281%, the Armenia Alliance 9.934%, and Prosperous Armenia 3.996%. Under these updated figures, the Prosperous Armenia Party does not clear the 4% electoral threshold required for parliamentary representation. Earlier, however, it had been reported that Prosperous Armenia had reached 4%.
