Mining firms required to implement dust controls

Amendments introduced in December 2025 are mandatory for subsoil-use companies, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Asatur Vardanyan said during a meeting with representatives of those firms.

Vardanyan also inquired about existing challenges in order to help prevent potential complications in the future.

The meeting focused on discussing the use of dust-suppression and misting equipment to neutralize the main sources of dust generation at operating mining sites and production areas.

The measures apply to key dust-producing activities, including drilling, blasting, loading, crushing, transportation, unloading and other industrial processes associated with mining operations.

The discussion was aimed at ensuring the effective implementation of environmental requirements and improving compliance among subsoil-use companies.
