On June 25, Armenia's Constitutional Court adopted a procedural decision on the case challenging the results of the June 7 parliamentary elections, rejecting a motion filed by the DOK party.
According to Factor.am , the representative of the Democracy, Law, Discipline Party (DOK) asked the court to separate its application from the consolidated proceedings and examine it in an independent constitutional case.
The court rejected the motion, ruling that the applications submitted by the Democracy, Law, Discipline Party, the Strong Armenia alliance, the Wings of Unity Party, the Prosperous Armenia Party, the For the Republic Democracy Defenders Alliance Party, the Hayastan alliance, and the New Force Reformist Party all concern the same issue.
The Strong Armenia alliance is seeking to have the election results declared invalid and to hold a second round of voting. The Hayastan alliance is requesting only that the election results be declared invalid. Representatives of the Prosperous Armenia Party argue that the party failed to pass the electoral threshold because voting results at three polling stations were declared invalid, while the Central Electoral Commission did not decide to organize a repeat vote.
In separate procedural decisions, the court stated that Judges Vladimir Vardanyan and Artak Zeynalyan have a preconceived attitude toward a party to the proceedings, that party's representative, or other participants in the case. They are not taking part in the examination of the case.
