Geragusian signs first Sunderland contract

English club Sunderland has officially announced that Armenia national team forward Finn Geragusian has signed his first professional contract with the club.

Speaking after signing his first professional deal, the Armenian forward shared his thoughts, Armsport reported.

"I'm very proud of myself. The coaches and everyone at the club have helped me tremendously. I especially want to thank my family for supporting and inspiring me throughout this journey. I've had fantastic opportunities and gained invaluable experience, and I hope there will be even more of both this season," he said.

Sunderland academy director John Hewitson also praised Geragusian's development.

"Finn has made enormous progress over the past few seasons, which is first and foremost a reflection of his hard work and dedication. We are delighted that he will continue his development at our club," he said.

Last season, the 18-year-old forward recorded 13 goals and three assists across Sunderland academy age-group teams, continuing the impressive form he showed during the 2024/25 campaign, when he registered 19 goal contributions. The season also marked an important international milestone, as Geragusian received his first call-up to the Armenia national team and made his senior debut in March against Belarus.
