Armenia adopts new state language policy

By order of the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, new principles of Armenia's state language policy have been adopted. The document establishes the government's vision for the sector, its core principles, implementation priorities and mechanisms for evaluating results.

The framework is intended to create a coherent national policy aimed at preserving linguistic diversity, ensuring a sustainable environment for languages spoken in the country and supporting their long-term development.

The document places particular emphasis on inclusiveness, strengthening the culture of social interaction among speakers of different languages and safeguarding linguistic diversity.

It also addresses emerging challenges facing languages as a result of rapid advances in digital technologies, identifying them as an area requiring policy attention.

According to the ministry, the approved principles will serve as the foundation for drafting future language strategies, state programs and legislative amendments.
