A court has accepted for consideration the lawsuit filed by Arthur Osipyan, chairman of the Artsakh Revolutionary Party, against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Osipyan announced the development on his Facebook page.

"The Yerevan Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction has accepted for proceedings the lawsuit I filed against defendant Nikol Pashinyan, seeking to oblige him to retract information I consider defamatory and to apologize," Osipyan wrote.

During the election campaign, Osipyan approached Pashinyan and asked him questions about Artsakh, after which an argument broke out between them. Osipyan was subsequently detained and later placed in pretrial detention. While in custody, he went on a hunger strike in protest against Pashinyan's description of him as a "fugitive." On June 10, Osipyan was released from the penitentiary.
