The Anti-Corruption Court of Appeal has decided to replace the pretrial detention of Armen Ashotyan with house arrest. The announcement was made by his lawyer, Ruben Melikyan, in a Facebook post.

"The change in the detention regime will take effect later today," Melikyan said.

Armen Ashotyan was detained on June 5. According to the charges, Ashotyan, acting together with other officials, abused his official position and assisted former Finance Minister Gagik Khachatryan and his son Artyom Khachatryan in acquiring property that was not eligible for privatization.
