SCRW to launch Armavir- Yerevan electric passenger train
On July 10, SCRW Director General and RA Armavir Region Governor will launch Armavir- Yerevan electric passenger train , SCRW Press Service reported.

On July 1, Hoktemberyan hosted a meeting between SCRW Director General, Shevket Shaydulin and Armavir Region Governor Ashot Kaghramanyan.

During the meeting, activity results of joint committee for the development of interrepublican railway communication were discussed. Specifically, the parties resolved to launch passenger electric train on July 10. According to Head of Passenger Transportation Department, transportation will take about 50 minutes. Affordable transportation price was established: 300 AMD per two -way Armavir-Yerevan ticket.

"The railway is an important factor in economic integration. We aim to provide business and population activity by facilitating transportation from RA Regions to Yerevan," Shevket Shaydulin noted, adding that SCRW will manage to attract entrepreneurs' interest to its extensive logistics chain.

SCR CJSC is a 100% shareholder of "Russian Railways" OJSC. Armenian Railways CJSC was transferred to South Caucasian Railway's concessionary management under a concessionary agreement dated February 13, 2008. The agreement was signed for the term of 30 years, with possible extension of 10 years.
