USA approves of steps directed at Armenian-Turkish rapprochement and opening of borders, US Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg stated at a joint news conference with RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.

According to James Steinberg, world community is interested in Armenian-Turkish rapprochement. "At the same time, we're assured that Armenian-Turkish relations and NKR conflict are absolutely different problems, not linked to each other. They could be resolved simultaneously, but I wouldn't link them together," Steinberg said.

"Armenia still adheres to its position, which was repeatedly announced: we're ready to normalize relations with Turkish without preconditions," RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian emphasized in his turn.
