France is interested in establishment of peace and stability in Caucasus, French Ambassador to Armenia Serge Smessov told a news conference in Yerevan.
"France is interested in establishment of stability in the region. Activities of France in the capacity of MG OSCE CO-Chair and steps, undertaken by French President Nicolas Sarkozy during Russian-Georgian crisis of August 2008, serve as a good example," the French diplomat emphasized.
According to him, official Paris pursues a number of interests in the context of neighborhood and collaboration with the region. "These interests are linked to European neighborhood policy, with France among its initiators," Serge Smessov noted.
