OSCE MG Co-Chairs anticipated Armenian and Azeri leaders to reach progress during their meeting in Moscow. But they saw no positive result, Head of Hay Dat office Kiro Manoyan told a news conference in Yerevan. "As shown by recent developments, mediators exerted pressures on Armenia in an attempt to satisfy Turkey which seeks to propose NKR conflict settlement as a precondition for normalizing ties with Armenia," he noted.

Mr. Manoyan also introduced ARFD Dashnaktutyun's remarks regarding Madrid principles. We find that NKR representatives should be directly involved in talks after the publication of those principles," he said, adding that the updated version of the document neither reflects the current situation nor considers the developments that took place after 1988.

"Today, it is impossible to ignore the fact that NKR people have twice expressed their will through referendums (in 1991 and in 2006). Conducting a new referendum is simply pointless," Manoyan stated.

The speaker did not have serious expectations of Sargsyan-Aliev-Medvedev trilateral meeting, but was convinced that mediators will spare no effort to have Yerevan and Baku sign the document by the end of the current year.
