Armenia's Ambassador to EU Avet Adonts handed his credentials to European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, RA MFA press office said.

Mr. Barroso confirmed the European Union's commitment to develop cooperation with Armenia and hailed the RA President's steps toward normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations and resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

The two men also referred to establishment of new contractual relationship, signature of agreement on free trade zone and simplification of visa system.
