At his visit to Israel, US Defense Secretary Robert Gates urged Iran to reply Washington's diplomatic offers by September. Upon completion of negotiations with Gates, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak noted that military actions against Iran are still possible.

After Israel, Gates will visit Jordan for talks with King Abdullah and his defense chief that will focus on coordinating efforts to leave a stable Iraq after U.S. forces complete their scheduled pullout, BBC Russian reported.
