Russia and Turkey consider possibilities for constructing oil refinery
Russian and Turkish governments have agreed to consider possibilities for oil refinery construction and joint sale of oil products, says an international protocol signed during Russian delegation's recent visit to Ankara.

Parties will set up a working group to analyze "possibilities of constructing refinery and organize joint sale of oil products, which may also apply to third countries". Parties will also encourage creation of joint oil companies in Russia and Turkey, as well as in third states, in the sphere of searching and developing coalfields.

On August 6, Russian and Turkish premiers Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signed protocol on cooperation in oil sphere. The document signed after negotiations in Ankara focused on creating a Russian-Turkish working group studying possibilities for Russia's participation in Samsun-Ceyhan oil pipeline construction project.
