In the course of his visit to the United Arab Emirates RA President met with representatives of Armenian and the UAE business in Abu Dhabi. As «Arminfo» agency reports, at the meeting Robert Kocharian stated as a result of economic reforms carried for the last years it was managed to ensure macroeconomic stability and permanent economic growth. According to him, in 2001 the increase of national produce was 9.6%, industrial production increased by 8.7%, export increased by 15% and the inflation was 3.1%. Robert Kocharian said the relative geographic contiguity of the UAE and Armenia proposed beneficial cooperation. And the Armenian head noted, free trade regimes between the two countries let down many bars. According to Robert Kocharian, the Armenian economy at the threshold of the serious development. «We consider ourselves as the most organized country in the South Caucasus and the regional center of intellectual services in the future», noted the President. According to him the special attention is paid to the priority-driven spheres: diamond cut, jewelry, high technologies, processing spheres, management improvement, struggle against corruption, privatizing process extension.
