Detecting police official's assassination - matter of honor
"Several people have been arrested on suspicion of being involved in Gevorg Mheryan's assassination," Head of RA Police Alik Sargsyan told today a news conference, stressing that detection of such crime, which was really a hard and time-consuming process, was really a matter of for Armenian Police.

Deputy Head of RA Police Gevorg Mheryan was assassinated on February 3, about 20:15. He was shot dead near his house entrance, on a stair landing on the 7th floor of building 65, Batrbyus street. Mheryan received 4 firearm injuries, 1 on the chest and 3 on the head. While examining the scene of action, 8 cartridges (diameter: 8mm.) and 4 bullets were found.

In this connection, Special Investigative Service of RA Police launched a criminal case under Clause 1, Section 2, Article 104 and Section 1, Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. A special operations-investigative group consisting of police, national security and Special Investigative Service employees was set up for disclosing the crime.
