On August 28, CIS and Baltic states start their XIII national cinematography forum in Moscow
On August 28-September 3, 2009, the Confederation of Cinematographers Union is organizing the XIII National Cinematography Forum in Moscow, under the aegis of CIS Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund. Bringing together cinematographers from CIS and Baltic countries, forum will present motion pictures by Azeri, Armenian, Georgian, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Tajik, Uzbek, Ukrainian and Estonian directors. Besides, forum agenda comprises a retrospective screening of producers' works, Interstate Fund's press secretary Alexander Kalugin told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.
As mentioned by Confederation Chairman, writer, scenario author and director Rustam Ibrahimbekov, forum "is a place of meeting for cinematographers for discussing a wide range of issues concerning development of national and international cinema art." Confederation's objective is "to maintain a common cultural area, develop individual and creative ties among screen masters as well as create joint films," Ibrahimov finds.
Forum program includes 3 debut films: "I will Wake up One Day" (director: Marina Kondartieva, Ukraine), "Life" (director: Radjabali Pirov, Tajikistan) and "I was Here" (director: Rene Vilbre, Estonia).
New films will be presented by permanent forum participants Aktan Arym Kubat (Abdukalykov) ("Paradise for Mummy", Kazakhstan), Ernest Abdyjaparov ("Thief in Love", Krgyzstan) and George Ovashvili ("Another Coast", Georgia-Kazakhstan).
Forum program also includes retrospective films which will be screened by producers. The event will end on September 3 with a round table devoted to the "Problems of Joint Film Production in CIS and Baltic Countries".
