Traffic Police: 40 lives were saved in 2009
As of August 31, 2009, 1208 traffic accidents, 207 deaths and 1709 victims were registered, Head of RA Traffic Police, Colonel Markar Ohanyan reported. According to him, 40 lives were saved in 2009, compared with 2008 results.
"These are not random figures. In 2009 police personnel was increased and technical equipment updated. The improvement registered is the result of our staff's conscientious performance," Markar Ohanyan noted.
