Today, demanding material and territorial compensation from Ankara is not realistic, Head of Democracy and Collaboration Institute, New York Department Andranik Mihranyan told a news conference in Yerevan. "A number of issues could be discussed in intergovernmental subcommittee frameworks. Ankara will probably raise Armenian Genocide issue, but Armenia could in its turn open a question of establishing trust atmosphere between RA and Turkish people," Andranik Mihranyan noted.

According to the politologist, RA-Turkish rapprochement protocols do not preclude future discussion of territorial issues between Armenia and Turkey. "As I know, Ankara wanted the protocols to clearly stipulate that Armenia and Turkey have no territorial claims to each other," he noted.

Dwelling on Woodrow Wilson's arbitral decision, Andranik Mihranyan noted that the decision has no legal force, and is unacknowledged by US Congress. "Besides, a number of agreements, including Sevre agreement, were denounced. Today we have Kars and Moscow agreements, and, in a sense, we confirm their validity." He also added that the Protocols do not include 3 preconditions Ankara set to Armenia.
