PACE, EP representatives allowed to attend Vahagn Chakhalyan's trial
The report on Javakhk activist Vahagn Chakhalyan's trial will help the Armenian community of France and the Coordination Council of Armenian Organizations in France (CCAF) take action to defend him, according to French lawyer Raffi-Philippe Kalfayan, who is eligible to monitor the legal proceedings.

"This report will help inform European structures about violations in Georgia's judicature," he told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter during a press conference in Yerevan. "It will also be possible to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights, although it's a long process."

Mr. Kalfayan said that the Georgian side could not provide with a proper Georgian-Armenian translation of the court session.

"Moreover, it's not clear why Georgian parliament did not approve an amendment to the law forbidding foreign lawyers for defend Chakhalyan's interests," he said.

He also informed that PACE and European Parliament representatives will be allowed to attend Vahagn Chakhalyan's trial due on October 23.
