Signing of Armenian-Turkish protocols may affect Armenian historiography
Statements that after 18 years of Armenian statehood, we have reached a maturity and cannot and do not have a right to make mistakes, do not correspond to reality, Vahan Hovhannisyan , head of ARF Dashnaktsutyun parliamentary faction ARF told a press conference in Yerevan today.

"The state thinking has not matured enough, which is obvious in the current process of normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations," he said.

As Vahan Hovhannisyan mentioned, after ratification of the Armenian-Turkish Protocols the notion of Armenian Genocide will disappear from the history books. The politician cited the example of Greece, where history textbooks avoid mentioning the Turkish pogroms.

According to Vahan Hovhannisyan, after ratification of the protocols record of or reference to the Genocide will be considered by the Turkish side and the international community as a manifestation of hostility towards Turkey. "I affirm that, since the Protocols clearly state that the parties should refrain from conducting hostile policies towards each other," Mr. Hovhannisyan emphasized.
